Overview: The Data and Governance Head plays a crucial role in overseeing the organization's data management and governance strategies. The Data and Governance Head collaborates with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce data standards, policies, and procedures to maintain data integrity, security, and compliance.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks, strategies, and policies.
  • Lead the data governance team in defining data management standards and practices.
  • Oversee data quality assessment, data classification, and privacy practices.
  • Establish and enforce data security and access controls.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align data strategies with business objectives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with data regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage data governance tools and technologies for effective governance.
  • Provide leadership in data governance initiatives and projects.
  • Conduct data risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
  • Communicate data governance strategies and progress to key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and data optimization.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement data governance solutions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on data governance best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in data management, governance, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Experience in leading and managing data governance initiatives.
  • Knowledge of data management standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and implement data governance strategies and frameworks.
  • Experience with data governance tools and technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in a data governance context.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing data governance team.
  • Proven track record of driving cultural change toward data governance and stewardship.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills in a data governance context.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical, hands-on execution.
  • Certifications in data management or governance are a plus.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare is advantageous.
