Job Description: Manager / Senior Manager Trims (Procurement)

Basic Overview:

Department : Trims Procurement

Location : Bengaluru, India

Reporting to : GM – Trims Sourcing

Role Description:

This role combines both strategic and operational responsibilities, encompassing end-to-end management of trims procurement for the Cut Knits and Essentials divisions, while also serving as the category lead for select trims across the group. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring timely availability, cost competitiveness, and quality compliance of all trims, while driving supplier development and process excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to forecast and identify seasonal trims requirements.
  • Consolidate trims demand across divisions and ensure timely issuance of purchase orders.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with key vendors to ensure reliable and cost-effective sourcing.
  • Track buyer performance against defined KPIs to drive operational efficiency and accountability.
  • Evaluate and monitor supplier performance across cost, quality, and on-time delivery (OTD) parameters to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all trims comply with buyer-specific quality standards and required certifications.
  • Lead cost optimization initiatives through structured negotiations, ZBCs, alternate sourcing, consolidation, and process improvements across trim categories.
  • Collaborate with Production, Finance, and Quality teams, along with vendors, to ensure smooth procurement operations and proactively resolve escalations.
  • Prepare monthly reports on purchase spend, cost savings, and supplier performance metrics.

Requirements / Skills:

  • Education: B.Tech / B.E. (Mechanical /Textile / Industrial) and/or MBA in SCM / Operations).
  • Experience: 5–8 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably within apparel / garment manufacturing or trims.
  • Proven expertise in operational excellence, cost optimization, and value engineering projects.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP/ others) and procurement workflows.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Experience managing a small team, mentoring junior buyers.
