Senior Executive Customs Operations is responsible for managing import/export customs clearance processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and coordinating with stakeholders (customs authorities, CHA, transporters, and internal teams). The role involves handling documentation, resolving operational issues, and supporting smooth flow of goods through customs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end customs clearance for import/export shipments.
  • Prepare, verify, and maintain all customs-related documentation (Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, Invoices, Packing Lists, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHA), freight forwarders, and regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor duty payments, exemptions, and ensure compliance with government regulations (e.g., Customs Act, GST, DGFT policies).
  • Track shipments and update internal stakeholders on clearance status.
  • Maintain and update records of import/export transactions for audits and reporting.
  • Support in classification of goods under HS codes and valuation processes.
  • Handle queries/disputes with customs authorities and resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist in audits, assessments, and internal compliance checks.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings in duty, demurrage, and clearance timelines.
