Position Summary

MIT College of Management (MITCOM) is seeking an innovative and tech-savvy individual for the position of Assistant Professor specializing in FinTech (Financial Technology). This role is crucial for integrating modern financial technologies and digital transformation concepts into the MBA curriculum. The candidate must possess expertise in the FinTech domain and adhere to the latest AICTE guidelines for faculty in management institutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic & Teaching Duties

• Conduct highly specialized and engaging lectures, tutorials, and workshops for MBA students focusing on the core FinTech domain and its intersection with traditional finance.

• Specialized Subjects include (but are not limited to): Digital Payments and Wallets, Blockchain Technology and Cryptocurrencies, RegTech, InsurTech, Robo-Advisory, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Lending, FinTech Ecosystem and Strategy, and Cyber Security in Finance.

• Design and update course materials, case studies, and practical exercises that leverage real-world FinTech applications and platforms.

• Guide students on research projects, dissertations, and internships related to the evolving FinTech industry.
• Integrate FinTech tools and software into the classroom experience.

2. Research and Innovation

• Engage in high-impact research focused on FinTech innovations, digital finance, blockchain applications, and regulatory challenges.
• Publish research papers in reputed refereed journals (UGC-CARE/Scopus/Web of Science).
• Seek industry-sponsored projects and consultancy in the area of digital financial services.
• Participate actively in the University's research cluster focused on technology and management.

3. Institutional & Industry Engagement

• Establish and maintain a strong industry interface with FinTech firms, banks, and technology providers through guest lectures, industry visits, and collaboration.
• Contribute to departmental and institutional administration, including curriculum design and accreditation activities (e.g., NBA/NAAC).
• Participate in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and continuous learning to stay ahead of rapid technological advancements in finance.

Eligibility Criteria (As per AICTE Regulations for Management)

The minimum qualifications for the direct recruitment of an Assistant Professor (Management) must adhere strictly to the latest AICTE norms, with the specialization tailored for FinTech:

1. Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. AND

• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) / PGDM / M.Com. / C.A. / ICWA, or an equivalent post-graduate degree in a relevant management discipline, with First Class or equivalent (minimum 60% if class/division is not awarded) at the Master's level.

• Note: The Master's Degree specialization must be in Finance or a closely related quantitative/technology management field, with a proven focus on FinTech, Digital Finance, or Financial Engineering.

2. Professional Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience after acquiring the degree of Master's degree.

• Note: Professional experience can be in teaching, research, industry, or profession. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant industry experience in a FinTech company, a digital banking division, or a financial technology consulting firm.

3. Ph.D. / NET (Highly Desirable)

• Ph.D. Degree in Finance, Management, or a related field with a thesis focused on Financial Technology, Blockchain, or Digital Transformation in Finance is highly desirable.
• NET/SET qualification is desirable, especially for candidates without a Ph.D.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Strong conceptual knowledge of Financial Markets, Risk Management, and Technology integration.
• Practical working knowledge of Digital Financial Platforms and relevant technologies (e.g., Blockchain fundamentals, API usage in finance).
• Familiarity with the regulatory landscape (RBI, SEBI) concerning FinTech in India.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and curriculum development skills.
