Position: Assistant Professor (International Business)

Position Summary

MIT College of Management (MITCOM) is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual for the position of Assistant Professor specializing in International Business. The candidate will be responsible for teaching, conducting research, and contributing to the academic and administrative growth of the Management Department, ensuring alignment with AICTE guidelines for MBA programs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Academic & Teaching Duties

• Conduct lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for MBA students in core and elective courses related to International Business.

• Subjects include (but are not limited to): International Trade Operations and Logistics, WTO and Global Business Environment, International Financial Management, Export-Import Management, and Cross-Cultural Management.

• Develop, update, and review course curricula and teaching methodologies to incorporate modern business practices and comply with AICTE/UGC standards.

• Mentor students on academic performance, projects, and career development.
• Utilize technology-enabled teaching methods, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and virtual case studies

2. Research and Innovation

• Actively engage in high-quality research and publish papers in SCI/UGC-CARE/AICTE approved refereed journals.
• Seek and apply for research grants and consultancy projects in the International Business domain.
• Guide student projects and dissertations at the PG level.

3. Institutional & Administrative Contribution

• Participate in departmental and institutional activities, including student admissions, committee work, and NBA/NAAC accreditation processes.
• Liaise with the corporate sector to organize guest lectures, industrial visits, and tie-ups for student internships and placements.
• Participate in Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities as prescribed by AICTE.

Eligibility Criteria (As per AICTE Regulations for Management)

The minimum qualifications for the direct recruitment of an Assistant Professor (Management) must adhere strictly to the latest AICTE norms:

1. Educational Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. AND

• Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) / PGDM / C.A. / ICWA / M.Com., with First Class or equivalent (minimum 60% if class/division is not awarded) at the Master's level.

• Note: The Master's Degree must be in a relevant management-related discipline, such as International Business Management.

2. Professional Experience

• Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience after acquiring the degree of Master's degree.

• Note: Professional experience can be in teaching, research, industry, or profession.

3. Ph.D. / NET (Highly Desirable)

While not mandatory for the initial AICTE minimum eligibility, a Ph.D. or NET is generally preferred by institutions and may be essential for career progression:

• Ph.D. Degree in the relevant/allied Management discipline is highly desirable.
• Candidates with Ph.D. acquired after the Bachelors degree from an Institution of National Importance with a valid GATE/GPAT/CEED score shall be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor (as per AICTE note).

Desirable Skills and Attributes

• Proven expertise and ability to teach a range of International Business subjects.
• Experience in conducting FDPs or professional training programs.
• Strong record of research publications and paper presentations at international/national conferences.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
• Familiarity with the latest tools and technologies used in international trade and business analytics.
