Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our IT- Cyber Security team at our Hyderabad office. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Information Technology function. This position will report to the Cyber Security Director.

Work Type: Remote

The Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for:   

• You will be responsible for day to day cyber security alert triage within a SOAR platform
• Escalates events according to a defined triage process
• Escalates events according to the Data Loss Prevention triage workflow process
• Initiate and participate within a group of analysts in incident response activities
• Document event analysis and write comprehensive reports of event and incident response activities
• Support the operations of the platform
• Experience in troubleshooting network and application protocols
• Experience with sensitive investigation rigor and process
• Python coding experience a plus
• Malware analysis a plus

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 – 6 years of experience within Information Security
• Understanding of fundamental to intermediate security, systems, and network concepts
• Experience using Splunk
• Experience using Unix-based operating systems
• Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to independently research and solve technical issues
• Demonstrated integrity in a professional environment

• Ability to work in and adapt to a changing environment

Expected Behaviors

• Understand and follow the incident response process through event escalations
• Identify indicators of compromise while participating in alert triage activities
• Effectively navigate a Unix-based operating system from the command line
• Understand and read data associated with information security alerting functions (such as email headers, network packet captures, event logs, and application processes).
• Ability to work within and alongside diverse, global, and virtual teams
