Job Summary:

The Lab Instructor for Computer Science and Engineering will support the academic and research objectives of the department by managing and delivering high-quality instructional labs. This role involves coordinating and supervising laboratory sessions, assisting students with research projects, and ensuring that the lab environment fosters innovation and research excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instruction and Lab Management:

  2. Prepare and deliver laboratory sessions for undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering.

  3. Develop and update lab manuals, exercises, and instructional materials.

  4. Ensure that laboratory equipment and software are properly maintained and up-to-date.

  5. Student Support and Supervision:

  6. Provide guidance and support to students during lab sessions and research activities.

  7. Assist students with troubleshooting technical issues and understanding complex concepts.

  8. Conduct individual and group consultations to aid in the completion of lab assignments and research projects.

  9. Research and Innovation:

  10. Collaborate with faculty and research teams to integrate cutting-edge technologies and methodologies into lab exercises.

  11. Support and facilitate student involvement in research projects and innovation initiatives.

  12. Assist in the development and execution of research experiments and prototypes.

  13. Administrative Duties:

  14. Maintain accurate records of lab activities, student performance, and equipment usage.

  15. Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for accreditation and program reviews.

  16. Manage lab inventory and coordinate the procurement of lab supplies and equipment.

  17. Professional Development:

  18. Stay current with advancements in Computer Science and Engineering, including emerging technologies and industry trends.

  19. Participate in departmental meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:Diploma / Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience:Prior experience in a lab or instructional role within a CSE department is preferred.

  • Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming languages, software development, and computer systems.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a research-focused environment.
