About SFL:

SFL is a leading multi-sport academy network offering professional coaching across Football, Tennis, Chess, and more. We combine elite infrastructure, certified coaching, and a digital-first approach to help children grow through sport.

Role purpose:

Build the top of the funnel for academy investments in Mumbai and Pune. Map the market, profile targets, run first pass screens, and support diligence and integration for challenger academies led by former players.

What you will do:

[A] Market Mapping and Sourcing:

  • List academies across priority sports in Mumbai and Pune
  • Identify targets that fit the SFL thesis
  • Reach out to founders and coaches to set first meetings

[B] Screening and Profiling:

  • Capture basics such as sport, catchment, capacity, pricing, programs, coach pedigree, and reputation
  • Review social presence, parent feedback, and visible facilities
  • Create a one page profile for each target

[C] Data and Modelling Support:

  • Collect initial numbers such as students, batches, fee slabs, center costs, and utilization
  • Build simple unit economics in Excel using SFL templates
  • Flag risks and missing data

[D] Diligence and Investment Support:

  • Maintain the issues log
  • Prepare short notes, slides, and a clean data room for each target
  • Draft call summaries and site visit notes

[E] Integration Preparation:

  • Outline first quarter priorities for brand, tech, and reporting using the SFL checklist
  • Track next steps after each meeting and the owner for each task

What success will look like:

  • A weekly list of qualified targets with clean one pagers
  • On time first pass models with clear pass or proceed calls
  • Neat files, links, and notes that enable fast decisions

What you should bring:

  • Comfort with numbers and basic finance
  • Clear writing and clean formatting
  • Curiosity about coaching quality and parent trust
  • Willingness to travel across Mumbai and Pune
  • Bonus experience as a player or coach.
  • Language proficiency in Hindi or Marathi is a plus

KPIs:

  • Qualified targets sourced per week
  • Profiles to first meeting conversion
  • Time from first contact to first pass model
  • Data completeness score per target

Internship details:

  • Location: Mumbai and Pune
  • Duration: 3 to 6 months
  • Commitment: Full - Time
  • Stipend: As per experience
