Position Overview
The Pharmacy Benefit Services+ Technology organization is seeking a Capcity and Performance Associate Advisor to join our team. This Band 3 Contributor role is a key part of the group, driving innovation and operational excellence across the enterprise.
In this role, you will lead the development of intelligent, automated systems that streamline the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) by enabling scalable, low-maintenance solutions and accelerating solution adoption. A primary deliverable includes a self-service onboarding kit that empowers users—regardless of technical expertise—to begin using the solution within minutes, with zero coding and no ongoing maintenance required.
You will operate within a high-performance, high-frequency enterprise technology environment, collaborating closely with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to design reusable, adaptable solutions. Your focus will be on reducing redundancy, promoting reusability, and upholding high standards of engineering excellence.
Your solutions will be designed for broad adoption across multiple stakeholder groups, including developers, end-to-end testers, business analysts, and operations teams. By enabling shared tooling and consistent automation frameworks, you will foster greater collaboration, reduce the creation of duplicate or siloed products, and improve the overall quality and consistency of enterprise systems.
Your contributions will directly support:
- Improved quality assurance through intelligent validation and monitoring,
- Increased developer productivity by reducing manual effort and streamlining workflows,
- Accelerated speed to market by enabling faster, more reliable delivery of new features and solutions.
By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices, you will help ensure that our systems are robust, efficient, and adaptable to evolving business needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute non-functional testing (NFT) strategies including performance, load, stress, scalability, and resilience testing across enterprise applications and platforms.
- Design and implement test plans and scenarios to evaluate system behavior under expected and peak load conditions, ensuring systems meet SLAs and performance benchmarks.
- Conduct capacity planning and modeling to forecast infrastructure needs and ensure systems can scale efficiently with business growth.
- Develop and maintain performance testing frameworks using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Locust, NeoLoad, Gatling, or similar.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to identify performance bottlenecks, root causes, and optimization opportunities across application layers.
- Simulate real-world traffic and failure scenarios to validate system resilience, failover mechanisms, and recovery strategies.
- Monitor and analyze system metrics (CPU, memory, I/O, network, etc.) during test execution using observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
- Provide detailed performance reports and dashboards, including KPIs, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and capacity standards, contributing to the design of scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
- Support continuous performance testing as part of CI/CD pipelines to detect regressions early in the development lifecycle.
- Contribute to the development of performance SLAs and SLOs, and ensure they are met through proactive testing and monitoring.
- Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in performance engineering, cloud scalability, and system resilience.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Performance Testing Tools: Hands-on experience with tools such as JMeter, Locust, LoadRunner, Gatling, NeoLoad, or similar for executing load, stress, spike, and endurance tests.
- Monitoring & Observability: Proficiency with platforms like Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Splunk for real-time performance monitoring, telemetry analysis, and root cause identification.
- Scripting & Automation: Strong scripting skills in Python, Shell, or Groovy to automate test execution, data collection, and reporting workflows.
- CI/CD Integration: Experience embedding performance and functional tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Cloud & Distributed Systems: Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Open shift) and experience testing microservices-based, distributed systems.
- Resilience & Chaos Testing: Familiarity with tools like Gremlin, Chaos Monkey, or Litmus Chaos to simulate failure conditions and validate system resilience.
- Test Data Management: Experience with synthetic data generation, data masking, and test data provisioning strategies for automated testing environments.
- Generative AI Integration: Exposure to using Generative AI for intelligent test case generation, synthetic data creation, and predictive defect analysis.
- System Architecture Understanding: Strong grasp of front-end, back-end, API, and database architectures to design effective test scenarios and assess performance impact.
- Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs): Experience defining and validating NFRs such as response time, throughput, scalability, availability, and reliability.
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to work cross-functionally with developers, QA, DevOps, and architects to align performance goals and resolve issues collaboratively.
Required Experience & Education:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years in software engineering, test automation, or infrastructure engineering, with a focus on non-functional testing.
- Demonstrated experience designing and executing performance test plans (load, stress, endurance, spike).
- Proven hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, NeoLoad, Gatling, Locust).
- Experience with chaos engineering tools (e.g., Gremlin, Chaos Monkey) in test or production-like environments.
- Familiarity with observability platforms (e.g., Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk) for performance diagnostics.

- Ability to correlate application performance with infrastructure metrics using observability tools.
- Experience in capacity planning and forecasting, including modeling based on historical usage and business growth.
- Familiarity with security and compliance testing as part of NFT (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, secure load testing).
- Background in CI/CD pipeline optimization, including parallel test execution, test data management, and automated rollback strategies.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading performance engineering initiatives across multiple teams or business units.
- Recognized for driving automation-first culture, improving system quality, and reducing duplication through shared tooling and architectural alignment
