Overview: The Senior Specialist - Software Engineering plays a crucial role in our organization by leading the development and implementation of Java-based POS systems using microservices architecture. This position requires deep expertise in software engineering, particularly in Java, POS systems, and microservices, to drive innovation and ensure high-quality deliverables.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Java-based POS systems using microservices architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement technical solutions for complex business requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensure code quality, and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Develop and maintain scalable and high-performing microservices using Java technologies.
  • Participate in architectural and design discussions to contribute to the development of robust and efficient software solutions.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Debug and troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely resolution to ensure smooth system operation.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve software development processes.
  • Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to software development best practices and standards, including coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies.
  • Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free software products.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and sprint reviews, ensuring timely delivery of features and enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in software engineering with a focus on Java-based development.
  • Proven expertise in developing POS systems and applications.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing microservices using industry-standard frameworks and tools.
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies for building scalable microservices.
  • Demonstrated experience in performance optimization and debugging of Java-based applications.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, agile practices, and DevOps principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring software development teams.
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms and services for deploying microservices.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, messaging queues, and database systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with version control systems and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions.
  • Relevant certifications in Java, microservices, or related areas would be a plus.
