We are building a next-generation digital utilities platform that combines power, broadband, and mobile services into a seamless experience. Our goal is to deliver automation, scalability, and a customer-first digital experience in a regulated environment.

The architecture and roadmap are defined, core modules are in beta, and we are preparing for live customer rollout. As our first hire, you will help take the platform from beta to production-ready scale.

Role Overview:

You will play a pivotal role in taking the platform from beta to production. You will:

• Work directly with the founder/technical advisor.
• Own delivery of core product features end-to-end.
• Build both backend APIs (Django) and frontend UI (React + Tailwind).
• Implement integrations, security layers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Lay the technical foundation for a scalable, compliant, multi-utility SaaS platform.

This role is ideal for a hands-on builder who thrives in startup environments, works independently, and wants to shape a product from the ground up.

Core Responsibilities:

• Backend Development – Extend features using Python/Django REST Framework.
• Frontend Development – Build and optimize React + Tailwind UI components.
• Database Design – Manage PostgreSQL schemas; optimize queries (TimescaleDB a bonus).
• Integrations – Implement and secure partner APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• Authentication & Security – Configure Keycloak, JWT flows, and RBAC.
• Workflow Orchestration – Build and maintain Airflow DAGs for automation.
• DevOps Support – Work with Docker, CI/CD (Gitea/Drone), and Caddy for SSL/TLS and routing.
• Monitoring & Logging – Basic observability with Grafana/Prometheus or similar.
• Documentation – Produce clear technical documentation for delivered features.

Required Skills:

• Python/Django – APIs, ORM, workflows.
• React + Tailwind CSS – Responsive UI development.
• PostgreSQL – Schema design, query optimization.
• Airflow - DAG design and orchestration
• Redis – Caching, pub/sub.
• Keycloak – Realm/client setup, JWT flows, RBAC.
• Caddy/Docker – Reverse proxy, containerized deployments.
• Git/Gitea – Branching, PR reviews, CI/CD pipelines.
• Security Best Practices – Encryption, sanitization, rate limiting, and access controls.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in energy, utilities, or fintech applications.
• TimescaleDB experience (time-series optimization).
• Prior work in multi-tenant SaaS applications.
• Familiarity with regulatory or compliance-driven environments.

Experience Level

• 5+ years in full-stack development.
• Proven track record of secure, scalable production apps.
• Strong independent problem-solving in remote settings.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Scope of Work:

• Stabilize Beta – Deliver feature backlog, fix bottlenecks, harden APIs.
• Own Core Modules – Authentication, workflows, partner integrations.
• Production Deployment – CI/CD, observability, security compliance.
• Knowledge Transfer – Document architecture for next hires.
