1. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting

  • Perform regular maintenance on rotating equipment (e.g., turbines, compressors, pumps).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to extend equipment life.
  • Risk and Reliability Management: Leading the Manage Equipment Care (MEC) process. Maintain schedule for maintenance strategy reviews and conduct the review based on Risk & Reliability Management principles with tools such as PM Optimization (PMO), REM strategy reviews, RCM, and PM Library where applicable.

2. Advanced Predictive Maintenance

  • Implement advanced predictive maintenance techniques using IoT sensors.
  • Develop a centralized monitoring system for real-time data analysis.
  • Integration of IoT sensors with existing equipment.
  • Training maintenance staff on predictive maintenance tools.
  • Reduction in unexpected equipment failures.

3. MTO & Root Cause Analysis

  • Identification and risk scoring for Threat and Opportunities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures.
  • Document findings and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence BY Causal Reasoning.
  • Implement reliability improvement initiatives based on RCA results.
  • Learn from old case studies- the engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issue.

4. Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.
  • Participate in safety audits and continuous improvement programs.

5. Inventory Management

  • Manage spare parts inventory for rotating equipment.
  • Ensure critical spares are available to minimize downtime.
  • Optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
  • Optimize spare parts inventory management using data analytics.
  • Reduce downtime due to unavailability of spare parts.
  • Preservation of stock in Warehouse.

6. Innovation and Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and performance.
  • Implement new technologies and methodologies for maintenance and monitoring.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in rotating equipment.

7. Enhanced Reliability Engineering

  • Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to improve equipment uptime and performance.
  • Facilitate RCM Process and have skill on associated tools, services, and materials as a subject matter expert with global experts, site maintenance leads/technical authorities.
  • Create and document RCM plans.
  • Train staff on reliability principles and practices.
  • Increase mean time between failures (MTBF) for critical equipment.

8. MOC (Management of Change)

  • Develop and document standard MoC procedures for rotating equipment's.
  • Implement a change management approval system.

9. Reliability Data Mining and Analysis:

  • Act as the custodian of reliability and maintenance data, using existing systems (SAP, AIF) to monitor and report KPIs, as well as identify bad actors and threats to reliability using reliability engineering tools/portals. Learn different methods /understand scenarios to analyze areas of improvements.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering related full-time university degree.
  • Minimum 7 years of overall working experience in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemicals with experience in One or more than one of following areas:
    • Erection & commissioning/ operations and maintenance of heavy rotating equipment like turbines, engines (preferably natural gas engines), compressors (preferably reciprocating compressors), centrifugal pumps etc., / inspection & maintenance of static equipment like columns, safety valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers etc. Experience is reliability studies.
    • Experience and knowledge in rotating machines performance and health monitoring CBM (Vibration monitoring).
    • Experience in Technical Data and Documents management including processes and tools. For example, experience in SAP PM & MM module implementation, skill in MS Office tools like Excel and Access etc.
    • Effective communication skill & Presentation skill.
    • Knowledge of CI methodology is an added value.
  • Other key attributes of reliability engineer:
    • FMEA Failure modes and effects analysis
    • CA Criticality analysis.
