Roles & Responsibilities of a Junior Accountant

  • Financial Transactions & Record-Keeping
  • Maintain and update financial records.
  • Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Reconcile bank statements.
  • Assist in accounts payable and receivable management.
  • Bookkeeping & Data Entry
  • Record daily transactions in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks).
  • Maintain ledgers and balance sheets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry.
  • Assist in Tax & Compliance
  • Help prepare tax returns (GST, TDS, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Assist in audits and financial inspections.
  • Payroll Assistance
  • Support payroll processing by verifying employee data and deductions.
  • Maintain records of salary payments and reimbursements.
  • Financial Reporting
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for management.
  • Assist in monthly and annual closing activities.
  • Expense Management
  • Track company expenses and prepare expense reports.
  • Ensure timely reimbursements.
  • Support Senior Accountants & Auditors
  • Assist senior accountants with financial analysis.
  • Provide data and documentation during internal and external audits.
  • General Administrative Support
  • Organize financial documents.
  • Respond to accounting queries from other departments.

Key Skills Required:

Knowledge of accounting principles & financial regulations

Proficiency in MS Excel & accounting software

Attention to detail & accuracy

Strong numerical & analytical skills

Good communication & teamwork
