Role & responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage daily operations of the garment and fabric testing lab.
  • Conduct physical and chemical tests on fabrics, garments, trims, and accessories (e.g., color fastness, shrinkage, GSM, pH, tearing strength, tensile strength).
  • Review and approve lab test reports, ensuring accuracy, validity, and timely submission to relevant departments or buyers.
  • Maintain calibration and upkeep of all lab equipment according to standard protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with buyer-specific testing protocols and international standards (AATCC, ISO, ASTM, etc.).
  • Coordinate with external certified labs for third-party testing when required.
  • Interpret lab test results and provide feedback to the quality, production, and sourcing teams.
  • Follow and Maintain SOPs for lab testing procedures and documentation.
  • Ensure lab safety, cleanliness, and adherence to internal quality systems.
  • Keep up to date with industry testing requirements and innovations in fabric/garment testing methodologies.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Familiarity with sustainable fabric testing and eco-standards.
  • Strong knowledge of textile/fabric testing methods and global standards.
  • Experience handling lab equipment.
  • Proficient in interpreting lab results and preparing technical reports.
  • Excellent coordination, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
