Shift Supervisor

Role & responsibilities

• Recommend and assist in the implementation of CETP goals and objectives.

• Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise and review the work of staff involved in operations.

• To operate, monitor, maintain, and trouble-shoot the Plant and its processes.

• During the Department head absence; act as the Departments representative to the public.

• Strictly follow SOP for plant Operations take necessary approval to change the SOP.

• Take responsibility for the operation of a CETP during an assigned shift.

• Supervises the operation and inspection of all process equipment and controls by shift operator, fitter, electrician and maintains specified plant performance standards.

• Monitors from the main control room process equipment, instrumentation and controls, alarm systems, remote stations, plant security systems, communications, etc. and makes necessary adjustments for operating equipment to maintain specified plant performance standards.

• Regular monitor sampling from the various stages of the process and send them to Laboratory to maintain compliance with PCB. Review the analysis results and implement accordingly to maintain quality norms.

• Complete and maintain records such as GPCB visit notices and their replies, Monthly Patrak, Daily Plant Report, Hazardous Waste Manifest and disposal data, Plant related log books-log sheets etc.

• Reports plant performance data to General Manager of Operations on Operations Log Sheets and Lab analysis data.

• Coordinates and discuss the impacts of all shutdowns/breakdowns (Engineering/Construction and Maintenance) on the treatment processes.

• Capacity mapping/ generate analytical data for a process and equipments associated with plant operation.

• Coordinates a variety of day to day Operational & Plant related activities among Operations staff (among the Shift In charges , between the Shift Operators, Shift Fitters & Shift Electricians) and between the other Departments Maintenance, Commercial and the Laboratory.

• Conduct Monthly park members sampling and Upstream/Downstream Sampling of Khadi.

• Complete the Activity for Storage and Disposal of Hazardous Waste.

• Manages the operations of a wastewater treatment plant to ensure compliance with regulatory procedures and reporting practices.

• Oversees sampling and testing systems, and the functionality of pumps, blowers, and other equipment.

• Ensures staff is up-to-date with all national, state, and local regulations and environmental guidelines.

• Ensures complete Safety while plant operations

• Issue of Work permit to executing dept. and ensure safe taken over of job executed.

• Typically reports to top management.

• Effectively utilization of manpower under your position

• Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.

• Ensures that department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

• Has full authority for personnel actions.

• Monitoring of Online effluent monitoring system and ensures its connectivity and take necessary action if not working properly.

• Comply with GPCB approved external Environmental Auditor. Data collection/ Preparation of draft Report and correspondence
