JOB PROFILE

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Coordinators for a six-month project focused on the area expansion of oilseed crops (groundnut and sunflower) in rice fallow lands across select districts in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The project aims to increase the cultivation area and productivity of these crops through demonstration plots, quality input distribution, and farmer capacity-building initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management acumen, technical expertise in agricultural development (specifically oilseed crops), and a proven track record of successfully executing field demonstration based agricultural development projects. This role requires close coordination with Senior Management and the CUTS headquarters in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute the required number of Front-Line Demonstrations (FLDs) on groundnut and sunflower, adhering to the recommended package of practices.

• Monitor the FLD process from land preparation, sowing, crop management to post-harvest activities.

• Engage with FPOs and other farmers groups to facilitate project interventions.

• Liaise with State Agricultural Universities, ICAR institutions, KVKs, Department of Agriculture, extension officers, and ICRISAT for technical support and convergence.

• Ensure timely procurement and distribution of quality seeds and inputs to FPOs and farmers.

• Maintain detailed documentation related to input distribution and utilization.

• Provide continuous technical handholding to farmers and FPOs throughout the crop cycle.

• Organize and facilitate field visits, training sessions, and demonstrations involving agricultural officials and other stakeholders.

• Collect soil samples from demonstration plots before sowing as per ICRISAT's guidelines and ensure timely submission for analysis.

• Digitally map all demonstration plots and upload relevant data on the Krishi Mapper web portal.

• Submit timely and accurate reports covering farmer registration and participation, input distribution and field activities, crop growth and performance monitoring, marketing and post-harvest outcomes, maintain both physical and financial records of project activities.

• Facilitate aggregation and establish linkages between FPOs and agri-entrepreneurs or markets to support better price realization.

• Represent CUTS in project-related meetings, seminars, workshops, and stakeholder engagements as and when required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFICIENCY

• Bechlor or Masters in agriculture, agri-business management or related field

• 2+ years of relevant experience in agriculture related projects

• Experience of working in oilseed crops, FPOs, and community engagement is desirable

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills

• Comfortable working in fast paced and deadline driven environment

COMPENSATION

CUTS recognises that the right candidate will have a significant impact on the success of the organisation and is prepared to offer a competitive compensation package in the range of ₹25,000 per month, commensurate with expertise and experience, in line with norms of the non-profit sector.

JOB LOCATION

The primary location will be designated locations of Rajasthan and Gujarat, with required travel to other locations as per project needs.
