Position Summary:
The Captain plays a key supervisory role in ensuring smooth day-to-day restaurant operations and delivering a consistently high-quality guest experience. The role involves supervising the service team, coordinating with kitchen and bar departments, and upholding Bastian Hospitality's service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Experience
- Greet guests warmly, ensure prompt seating, and oversee overall table service quality.
- Anticipate guest needs, handle special requests, and resolve complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Ensure every guest receives a memorable dining experience aligned with Bastian Hospitality's brand standards.
Team Supervision
- Lead, train, and motivate the service team to deliver exceptional service.
- Allocate tables, assign duties, and supervise order-taking and food service.
- Conduct pre-service briefings to communicate menu changes, promotions, and special events.
Operations & Coordination
- Ensure timely coordination between kitchen, bar, and service teams for smooth order flow.
- Monitor table setup, cleanliness, and overall ambiance.
- Maintain inventory of service equipment and ensure proper handling of cutlery, glassware, and linen.
Sales & Upselling
- Promote menu specials, beverages, and desserts to maximize sales.
- Support the restaurant manager in achieving revenue and profitability targets.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure adherence to hygiene, safety, and grooming standards.
- Follow company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a supervisory or captain role in a premium or fine-dining restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of F&B service standards, menu presentation, and POS operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management / Hospitality preferred.
