Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced
Sr. Manager, Tech Engineering (15+ years experience)
to lead the Alternate Investment Product Engineering teams. This role will oversee the design, architecture, and delivery of software platforms that support investment accounting processes, including asset tracking, income recognition, capital gains/losses, reconciliation, compliance, reporting, and tax accounting.

The ideal candidate brings strong
full-stack engineering expertise
(.NET Core, React, distributed systems, data pipelines, and cloud-native architectures), proven leadership of cross-functional teams, and the ability to drive data architecture initiatives for reporting and analytics. Hands-on familiarity with
GenAI-assisted development tools
(Cursor, GitHub Copilot) is expected to accelerate team productivity and improve solution quality.

Responsibilities
Strategic & Technical Leadership

• Own the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Investment Accounting platforms.
• Oversee the development of data pipelines and data architectures to support reporting, reconciliation, compliance, and analytics.
• Provide full-stack technical guidance across backend (.NET Core, APIs, distributed systems) and frontend (React, component libraries, dashboards) systems.
• Drive adoption of cloud-native designs (Azure/AWS) for scalability, security, and compliance.
• Champion the responsible use of GenAI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot) across the team to improve velocity.
• Ensure alignment with financial compliance and accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).

Engineering Management

• Lead and manage a team of engineers and leads, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of software solutions.
• Establish and enforce engineering best practices for coding, testing, CI/CD, and observability.
• Collaborate with product managers, finance domain experts, and stakeholders to translate accounting and reporting needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Oversee the modernization of legacy systems through refactoring and re-architecture where required.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability.

Business & Domain Alignment

• Build systems that automate asset tracking, income recognition, capital gains/losses, and valuation workflows.
• Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation across custodians, ledgers, and reporting systems.
• Deliver robust reporting platforms to meet compliance requirements (GAAP/IFRS) and support internal/external audits.
• Partner with finance and tax teams to ensure proper tax accounting and reporting automation.
• Deliver insights through portfolio performance analytics and risk-adjusted return calculations

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in engineering leadership/management roles.

• Proven expertise in full-stack development:

• Backend: .NET Core / C#, distributed systems, APIs, event-driven patterns, data consistency.

• Frontend: React, dashboards, component library architecture.

• Strong experience with data engineering and data pipelines to support accounting, reconciliation, and reporting.

• Familiarity with investment accounting processes (asset tracking, reconciliation, reporting, compliance) preferred.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments (Azure/AWS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Track record of managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
• Demonstrated use of GenAI coding tools to accelerate delivery.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to translate financial/accounting requirements into technical solutions

Education/Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in information systems/technology, Computer Science, a related field in technical engineering, or equivalent experience
• Fluent in both spoken and written English
