Job Description:Job Title: General Manager Logistics – Chemical Industry - Mumbai

The General Manager – Logistics is responsible for leading and managing the company's global export and import operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient movement of chemical products worldwide. This role oversees international logistics, trade compliance, documentation, and global freight management while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the EXIM function. The GM–Logistics works closely with supply chain, manufacturing, regulatory, and commercial teams to support global business growth and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibility

EXIM Strategy & Operational Leadership

• Develop, implement, and manage EXIM strategies and procedures that support global business objectives and compliance requirements.
• Lead export and import operations across multiple international markets, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, shipping, and delivery.
• Manage international logistics networks, including freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and 3PL partners.
• Oversee and optimize the EXIM budget, freight spend, and cost-efficiency initiatives.

Trade Compliance & Regulatory Management

• Ensure full adherence to global trade regulations and other chemical-specific regulatory frameworks.
• Oversee export controls, licensing requirements, and dangerous goods compliance.
• Maintain accurate audit records, permits, licenses, and compliance files.
• Interface with customs officials, government agencies, and regulatory bodies to resolve compliance or documentation issues.

Export–Import Operations

• Manage all EXIM operations, including shipping documentation, customs clearance, freight booking, and shipment execution.
• Ensure accurate preparation and validation of commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, DG declarations, SDS documentation, and COO forms.
• Coordinate with production and supply chain teams to align inventory, manufacturing output, and export schedules.
• Resolve shipment delays, customs holds, logistics bottlenecks, and customer issues promptly.

Logistics, Freight & Distribution

• Oversee international transportation planning, multimodal freight routing, and selection of global logistics partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve transit times, reduce freight costs, and enhance service levels.
• Collaborate with warehouse, distribution, and operations teams to ensure proper packaging, labeling, storage, and handling of hazardous chemicals.
• Track and improve key logistics KPIs such as OTD, cycle times, cost per shipment, and compliance scores.

Leadership, Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor the EXIM team, providing training, development, and performance management.
• Collaborate with commercial, customer service, finance, procurement, EHS, and regulatory teams to ensure smooth end-to-end shipment processes.
• Provide management reporting on EXIM performance, compliance risks, logistics spend, and international market requirements.Key Skills:Mandatory:
• 15+ years of experience in EXIM or global logistics within the chemical or industrial manufacturing sector
• Strong knowledge of global trade compliance, chemical regulations, DG/HAZMAT shipping standards, and international logistics.
• Proven experience managing international operations, freight partners, and EXIM teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and leadership abilities.

Job Location: Andheri East - Marol,Mumbai

Working Days: 5 days

Timings: -9am-6pm/ pm/ 10pm-7pm (Candidates can choose as per preference)

Saturday: 2nd & 4th- 10am- 2pm , 1st, 3rd & 5th- 1.5 hrs early leaving

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, International Trade, Chemical Engineering, or related field

Notice Period: Immediate to 30 days

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹250,000.00 per month
