About the Roles :

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Engineer
to support our Contract Manager in the end-to-end procurement process. The role will play a key part in vendor management, technical evaluation, and ensuring timely procurement of materials and services in alignment with project and contract requirements.

This position is ideal for someone with a strong engineering background and interest in commercial processes, vendor coordination, and contract support in a manufacturing or project-based environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Contract Manager/ Head in preparing procurement plans aligned with project timelines and contract obligations.
  • Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), evaluate supplier bids technically and commercially, and support in vendor selection.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure accurate and complete technical specifications for procurement items.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Preparation of Comparison, Coordinate internal approvals and support in drafting purchase orders and contracts.
  • Support contract negotiation processes and maintain procurement documentation.
  • Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules; escalate delays and propose solutions.
  • Contribute to cost reduction initiatives and procurement strategy development.
  • Co-ordinate with Accounts Dept for timely Purchase related payments
  • Prepare MIS on weekly / monthly basis

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
    (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience
    in procurement or supply chain, preferably in a project-based or manufacturing environment (Steel is a plus)
  • Exposure to ERP systems (SAP/ Oracle)  is desirable.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of procurement principles and engineering specifications.
  • Good commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with procurement modules in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
