Role & responsibilities

• Supervise and execute the erection and commissioning of C&I systems including DCS, PLC, SCADA, field instrumentation, analyzers, and electronic control systems.
• Review and interpret P&IDs, control logic diagrams, loop diagrams, and instrumentation layouts.
• Plan and monitor installation, loop checking, cable laying, tray routing, termination, and instrument calibration.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
• Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and contractors for FAT, SAT, and integration of control systems.
• Lead the cold and hot commissioning activities, tuning of control loops, and troubleshooting of instrumentation-related issues.
• Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and ensure documentation as per QA/QC and ISO standards.
• Conduct functional testing and ensure smooth handover of systems post-commissioning.
• Manage spares, consumables, and tools required for erection and commissioning.
• Provide training and technical guidance to junior engineers and client operators.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of thermal power plant systems (Boiler, Turbine, BOP).
• Proficiency in DCS/PLC systems .
• Familiarity with instrumentation standards (ISA, IEC, etc.).
• Expertise in handling field instruments (temperature, pressure, flow, level), actuators, and control valves.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills for commissioning challenges.
• Good communication and team coordination skills.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate having 7 to 12 years of experience in Control and Instrumentation (Erection and Commissioning) of Thermal Power Plant.
