Job Title: Engineering Manager
Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore
 

Business & Team: Join our Engineering team within the Technology division at CommBank. Our team is dedicated to developing and optimizing cutting-edge applications that drive the bank's digital transformation. We work collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

Impact & contribution: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our talented engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions, fostering a collaborative team environment, and ensuring the successful execution of projects.

Roles & responsibilities:

· Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software solutions, ensuring they meet quality standards and business objectives.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and code quality.

· Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive technical excellence.

· Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

· Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement strategies for employee growth and retention.

· Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the engineering team.

Essential skills:

  • Minimum 16 years of experience.

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within a software engineering environment.

  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development, architecture, and design.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Extensive experience of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools.

  • Passion for technology and a commitment to staying current with industry trends.

  • Deep understanding in designing and building data pipelines using tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of data modelling, ETL processes, and data governance principles.

Education Qualification:  Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
