Role & responsibilities :

1. Basic & Detailed Engineering Documentation

  • Preparation and review of:

  • Key Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

  • Overall Plant Power Distribution Scheme
  • Transformer sizing & selection
  • Cable sizing memorandums for HT, LT & Control cables
  • Battery sizing & DC System Design
  • DG Sizing & selection
  • Capacitor Bank calculation & selection
  • Earthing & Lightning Protection calculations
  • Illumination Design Memorandum
  • ETAP Studies (Load Flow, Short Circuit Analysis, Motor Starting Studies)
  • Cable routing layouts & coordination drawings
  • VFD selection and application engineering

2. Vendor Engineering & Procurement Support

  • Preparation of Purchase Requisitions for electrical equipment and systems.

  • Review Engineering of vendor submissions including:

  • Power & Distribution Transformers

  • 11kV & 3.3kV HT Switchgear
  • PMCC & IMCC
  • HT, LT & Control Cables
  • DC Battery & Charger systems
  • DG sets & auxiliaries

  • Capacitor Banks, etc.

  • Review of vendor drawings/documents, offer evaluation, technical bid analysis, and approvals.

  • Provide Manufacturing Clearance and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) coordination.

3. Electro-Mechanical Package Engineering

  • Support in preparation of Purchase Requisitions and review of engineering for:

  • 11MW Steam Turbine Generators

  • Waste Heat Recovery Boiler

  • Hot ESP and Wet ESP systems

  • Coordination with mechanical & instrumentation disciplines for integrated engineering deliverables.

4. Client/Consultant Interfacing

  • Conduct and participate in review meetings with Client & Client Consultant for approval of Basic & Detailed Engineering documents.
  • Achieve timely approvals for all key engineering deliverables.

5. Layout & Installation Engineering Support

  • Provide engineering support for preparation/review of:

  • Substation Equipment Layouts

  • Cable Tray Routing Layouts
  • Earthing & Lightning Layouts
  • Other electrical building services (illumination, earthing grids, auxiliary power systems).

6. Coordination & Interface Engineering

  • Coordinate with:

  • Client consultants, contractor consultants, and project stakeholders.

  • Interface Engineering Manager for system integration.

  • Rail signaling, CCTV, ACS, and other security system packages (where applicable).

  • Ensure alignment with project requirements, safety standards, and statutory norms.

Preferred candidate profile :

  • 20+ years of experience in Electrical Design & Engineering of large-scale Thermal Power Plants (EPC environment).
  • Strong expertise in power system design, ETAP studies, and vendor engineering.
  • Proven track record in handling complete electrical engineering packages in thermal power projects of 500 MW capacity.
