Job Title: Finance Controller

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Accounting

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Ensure accurate preparation of financial statements
  (Exposure to Ind AS/IFRS/US GAAP as applicable to the software services and product industry, is mandatory, and the Life Sciences industry is preferred)
• Oversee general ledger management and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Drive consistency and improvement in accounting policies and procedures.

Internal Controls & Governance

• Establish, strengthen, and monitor internal control frameworks.
• Implement financial SOPs and enforce compliance across business functions.
• Conduct internal control reviews and drive corrective actions.
  
  

Compliance & Audit Management

• Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead statutory, internal, and tax audits; coordinate with auditors.
• Oversee regulatory filings under Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, FEMA, etc.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

• Support planning cycles and provide meaningful financial insights.
• Drive variance analysis, budgeting discipline, and cost control initiatives.
• Partner with business teams to align financial performance with business goals.

Working Capital & Cash Flow Management

• Maintain oversight on cash flow, liquidity, AR/AP cycles, and treasury activities.
• Monitor working capital metrics and support improvements.
• Ensure timely vendor payments and credit controls.

Risk Management

• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Strengthening risk governance related to financial operations.
• Monitor compliance with internal and external financial covenants.

Systems, Processes & Automation

• Drive process improvement and system automation across finance functions.
• Implement or enhance ERP, accounting tools, and digitization efforts.
• Evaluate and streamline accounting workflows.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
• Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• CA / CPA / CMA or equivalent (preferably CA).
• 8–12 years of relevant experience in financial controllership, accounting, or audit.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (Ind AS/IFRS/GAAP), tax laws, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with accounting Software such as QB, Zoho, or Netsuite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under tight timelines and manage multiple priorities.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:

Full Time, Permanent

COMMITMENTS:

• Standard Hours 40 hours per week, one hour lunch, Monday – Friday. Additional hours as needed.
• Willing to work in shifts as and when needed.
