We are looking for a dynamic and meticulous Finance Controller with a Chartered Accountant qualification and 4-5 years of experience. This role will be central to overseeing the financial health of our company by ensuring timely closure of books, setting up and maintaining robust controls and processes, managing statutory compliance, overseeing treasury functions, and leading a team. The Finance Controller will work closely with senior management to support decision-making and help drive operational efficiency and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
:

Monthly and Annual Financial Closures

  • Oversee the end-to-end closure of books on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile financial statements, manage adjustments, and ensure timely submissions.

Establishing Financial Controls and Processes

  • Develop and implement financial controls and accounting processes to maintain accuracy
  • Continuously review and improve internal processes for efficiency and compliance.

Statutory Compliance and Regulatory Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audit compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports, coordinating with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.

Treasury and Cash Flow Management

  • Manage cash flow effectively, overseeing liquidity and investment planning to ensure financial stability.
  • Optimize working capital, monitor fund utilization, and coordinate with banks on treasury operations.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Set team goals, provide guidance, and ensure the team adheres to deadlines and quality standards.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial standards, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
  • Oversee internal controls to secure company assets and prevent discrepancies.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with other departments to provide financial insights and support cross-functional projects.
  • Align financial policies and procedures with the company's strategic goals.

Qualifications and Skills
:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 4-5 years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting, or auditing with a startup
  • Proven experience in closing books, managing compliance, establishing financial controls, and overseeing treasury functions.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, tax laws, and statutory filings.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage, mentor, and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
