The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country.

In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.

In this context, we would be interested in recruiting suitable candidates for the position of Academic Coordinator for DAV Rrase school @ Padappai, Oragadam

Roles, responsibilities & skills — Academic Coordinator

  • Academic Planning & Scheduling
  • Prepare and manage class timetables, course schedules, and academic calendars.
  • Coordinate allocation of classrooms, labs, and other resources.
  • Ensure smooth flow and consistency across all academic programs.
  • Curriculum Support & Development
  • Collaborate with faculty to design, review, and update curriculum, syllabi, and instructional materials.
  • Monitor that course content aligns with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Track and report on student academic performance, attendance, and progress.
  • Identify students requiring academic intervention, counseling, or remedial support.
  • Coordinate with faculty and instructors regarding class schedules, assignments, exam planning, and resources.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee examinations, quizzes, assessments, and result processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of student registration, grades, attendance, transcripts, and academic history.
  • Generate reports, analytics, dashboards, and institutional academic statistics.
  • Plan and execute academic events: workshops, seminars, guest lectures, conferences, orientation programs, etc.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline (e.g. B.Sc / B.A. / B.Com etc.).
  • A degree in Education, Education Management, or related fields is a plus.
  • Post‑graduate qualifications (M.Ed, M.A., MBA etc.) desirable but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2‑3 years experience in academic coordination or related responsibilities preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal & written).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and academic / administrative software (LMS, student information systems).
  • Ability to coordinate academic schedules, monitor student progress, and manage resources effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to work with students, faculty, administration.
  • Detail‑oriented with good record‑keeping ability.
  • Problem‑solving mindset, flexible and adaptable to change.

Salary shall commensurate with experience
