Job Description Summary
• Act as a delivery lead and a strategic business partner for the functional portfolio of responsibility within Global Clinical Operations (GCO) by owning all technical aspects of the area in close partnership with the business stakeholders.
• This includes technical strategy and roadmap, ownership of project / program delivery and operations within the portfolio, team and stakeholder management.

Business Partnership: Preferably 15+ years of experience.
Be the business partner for CDO business. In such a role, the candidate is expected to collaborate, listen to and engage CDO leadership and function head and extended teams and be the primary point for DIT. The candidate must have prior business-facing role and experience, working in a demanding and dynamic environment with the end users.
Be the problem solver and provide technological solutions to business challenges and issues as they are brought to his/her notice. This requires experience in tapping into the internal and external stakeholders and providing options to resolve issues quickly in collaboration with function heads.
Be able to multi-task and be flexible in handling varieties of issues as they appear. The ability to make decisions in dynamic situations is important.
Be the voice of business and IT in larger forums and develop solutions keeping larger CDO vision in mind.
In addition, expecting to lead strategic and cross-functional initiatives that drive digital transformation, data governance, and operational excellence across SIT-TIS (Technology, Integration and Standards from Business) and Enterprise Data Management (EDM). This role is pivotal in orchestrating the delivery of enterprise-scale solutions in collaboration with stakeholders from SIT-TIS, EDM and DIT – Data & Analytics teams.
DDIT lead for CDO- Delivery Management- Preferably 15+ years of experience.
Significant experience of having delivered projects with full end to end SDLC execution experience of more than 15+ years of IT experience in matrix organization.
Lead the DIT team and develop and retain talent in alignment with the vision of DIT and CDO expectations. Ensure that the organizational surveys such as Glint have strong participation from the DIT team.
Strong display of Novartis V&B and lead the DIT teams with a focus on resilience, trust and ownership.
Perform financial and budget planning for the upcoming year in collaboration with SIT and CDO business teams.
Closely collaborate with SIT and CDO business team in converting business requirements to demands and taking them to different DIT and Business Governance boards for approval and sign-off.
Track and monitor the internal allocation of DIT resources to ensure sufficient compliance requirements for I2P target are met as expected.
Actively engage and initiate demands as required based on different requirements and changes required in different business and IT forums.
Be the single owner for all project delivery for all demands that have converted into projects and ensure that the projects are delivered by the project plan per the agreed time, quality, scope, and end user needs.
Key Responsibilities from SIT-TIS perspective:
Co-Own initiatives such as FLOWGUARD, TIDE Expansion, and other initiatives aligned in BU2026 activities. Ensuring alignment between SIT and IT teams and drive successful CAR (Capital Approval Request) preparation and governance approvals.
Data Strategy & Governance: Oversees the design and implementation of data-centric programs including RDM, MDM, DFM, and UAM, ensuring consistency, scalability, and compliance with enterprise standards.
Budget & Cost Management
d. Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitates collaboration across SIT-TIS and DIT teams, ensuring transparent communication, shared ownership, and timely feedback loops for project execution and scope refinement.
e. Solution Architecture & Integration: Guides the integration of platforms such as SNOW, Appian, and Collibra into enterprise workflows, addressing technical constraints and enabling seamless data product capabilities.
f Governance & Compliance: Coordinates with governance boards and Tech Councils to ensure initiatives meet regulatory, financial, and strategic thresholds for approval and execution.
g. Be the single point of contact for any escalations / progress concerning SIT-TIS initiatives. And show the presence in all critical meetings / regular cadence with sponsors / business leads.
Operational Management- Preferably 15+ years of experience.
Be the Operational lead for all DIT owned applications in BAU state in CDO.
Ensure all operational applications are running in BAU state within the SLAs, and status reports are shared as required with the stakeholders.
Be the single point of contact for any escalation in operations application and ensure quick communication with stakeholders and ensure resolution of high priority tickets such as P1/P2 with min. impact to business.
Lead and manage vendors in operations to ensure timely delivery of requirements and changes as expected.
Support and lead the application teams as required for any inspection, audits, and compliance.
Soft Skills.
Overall 15+ years IT experience along with strong -10 years - R&D Pharma Drug Development experience in Clinical Data Operational System Experience.
Strong communication skills.
Strong experience having delivered large programs and operations management similar to DevOps set-up.
Problem solver and curious leader, having been exposed to different scales of problems.
Robust team leadership skills to develop, grow, and retain talent and provide guidance and clarity to the team depending on different situations.
