Job Summary :We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cassandra DBA to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our Cassandra database infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of Cassandra architecture, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to ensure high availability and performance of our database systems. Key Responsibilities :Cassandra Database Administration :

  • Install, configure, and maintain Cassandra clusters in production and development environments.
  • Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
  • Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Manage user access and security, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting systems for Cassandra clusters.

Performance Tuning and Optimization :

  • Analyze query performance and implement optimizations to improve response times.
  • Tune Cassandra configurations to maximize performance and resource utilization.
  • Optimize data models and schema design for efficient data access.
  • Perform capacity planning and ensure the database can handle increasing data volumes.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution :

  • Diagnose and resolve complex database issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
  • Provide on-call support for critical database issues.

Schema Design and Data Modeling :

  • Design and implement efficient data models and schema designs for Cassandra.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure optimal data access patterns.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across the database.

Automation and Scripting :

  • Develop and maintain scripts for automating database tasks and deployments.
  • Utilize configuration management tools (e.g, Ansible, Chef, Puppet) to automate database management.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.

Collaboration and Communication :

  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications :Experience : 8 years of experience as a Cassandra DBA.Technical Skills :

  • Strong understanding of Cassandra architecture and internals.
  • Proficiency in CQL (Cassandra Query Language).
  • Experience with Cassandra administration tools (e. g, nodetool, cqlsh).
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g, Python, Bash).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Experience with Cassandra on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Soft Skills :

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong debugging Qualifications :
  • Cassandra certifications.
  • Experience with other NoSQL databases (e.g, MongoDB, HBase).
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with Spark.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for database systems )
