Database Systems Expert

The Principal Database Administrator will play a key role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of relational database systems. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the security, organization, and documentation of databases, as well as monitoring overall standards and procedures.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain all functions of database systems, including access, methods, time, device allocations, validation checks, organization, security, documentation, and statistical methodology
  • Assist in the design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and control of physical and relational databases
  • Consult with users to determine requirements and recommend database establishment and utilization
  • Implement HA solutions and define backup/recovery strategies
  • Define technical infrastructure environments using MySQL, Cassandra, Oracle, and PostgreSQL
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in 2 database platforms (MySQL, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, and Oracle) database administration
  • 5+ years of production support or technology administration supporting internal systems
  • 3+ years of solid UNIX/LINUX background
  • 3+ years of experience with UNIX Korn Shell
  • 2+ years of experience with Azure or AWS cloud
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MySQL/Cassandra/PostgreSQL/Oracle Certification
  • Azure or AWS cloud experience
  • Percona Server experience
  • TSM/NetApp backup environment experience
  • Professional experience in the healthcare industry
