We are seeking a passionate and qualified Chinese Language Instructor to teach Mandarin Chinese to students of varying levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the Chinese language, effective teaching skills, and a deep understanding of Chinese culture. This role involves planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and fostering a positive, engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver Mandarin Chinese lessons for individuals or groups, tailored to learners' levels and goals.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments.
  • Teach listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills using appropriate pedagogical methods.
  • Incorporate multimedia and real-life materials to enhance language learning and cultural understanding.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, supportive classroom environment.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Prepare students for proficiency exams (e.g., HSK, AP Chinese), if applicable.
  • Participate in curriculum development and staff meetings, if part of a school or institution.
  • Stay up to date with current methodologies and best practices in language instruction.

Qualifications:

  • Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
  • Proficiency in English (or other relevant language of instruction).
  • Previous experience teaching Chinese as a foreign/second language.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills.
  • Experience with online teaching platforms and tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.) if applicable.
