We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Technology Engineer – Network Security to join our Group IT Infrastructure & Operations team based in Chennai/Bengaluru This role is pivotal in leading the engineering, standardisation, and lifecycle management of enterprise-grade network security products. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in security technologies, a strong understanding of cloud and infrastructure platforms, and a passion for driving innovation through automation and best practices. This role focuses on engineering, standardising, and managing the lifecycle of network security products across the organisation. The role ensures operational stability, enhances security posture, reduces product total cost of ownership (TCO), and maintains compliance with internal IT standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement and support network security solutions: NGFWs, IDS/IPS, Web Proxy, Load balancers, RAS, DNS, Certificates.
  • Lead product engineering strategy and lifecycle; ensure platform stability and resilience.
  • Continuously conduct R&D and incorporate selected features into the product backlog.
  • Collaborate with security, architecture, infrastructure, and application teams.
  • Drive standardisation and automation to reduce TCO and operational overhead.
  • Influence technical standards and mentor junior engineers in the network security team.
  • Support cloud security enablement and implementation of next-generation firewall capabilities.
  • Provide L3 escalation support when required.
Performance Metrics:
  • Compliance with the organisation's approved technology stack.
  • Reduction in non-standardised network security products.
  • Year-over-year decrease in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Reduction in critical business-impacting incidents.
Required Experience & Skills:Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience:
  • 10+ years in a relevant technical position within large organisations.
  • Experience in the banking sector is preferred.
Technical Skills (Essential):
  • In-depth knowledge of network security principles.
  • Hands-on experience with NGFWs (e.g. PaloAlto, Checkpoint), F5 (GTM, LTM, ASM).
  • Experience with solutions like Bluecoat, Pulse Secure.
  • Familiarity with open-source tools (HAProxy, Service Mesh, PFSense, Squid).
  • Automation and scripting knowledge (Ansible, Python, Chef).
  • Exposure to cloud security practices.
  • Understanding of modern infrastructure technologies (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes, VMWare ESXi).
