Position Overview

is seeking a skilled and reliable
Bookkeeper / Accountant
to manage day-to-day financial operations, maintain accurate books, and support our remote legal/immigration business. This is a
100% remote
position. The right candidate will help ensure the company's finances are well organized, compliant, and transparent — freeing up leadership and legal teams to focus on delivering excellent immigration services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile all financial transactions, including bank and credit card statements, vendor invoices, payments, and receipts.
  • Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and ensure all entries are accurate and timely.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting tools (such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books, etc.).
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable. Issue invoices, track payments, follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (Profit & Loss / Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements) for management review.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and tax regulations relevant to the business. This may include GST / TDS / U.S., or other relevant jurisdiction requirements depending on operations.
  • Collaborate with external accountants or auditors as needed (especially for year-end close or tax filings).
  • Maintain digital financial records and archives; ensure secure, organized documentation.
  • Monitor and optimize financial workflows and tools (software, automation), and help recommend and implement improvements.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Bookkeeper or Accountant, ideally with a legal, immigration, or service-based business.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Good knowledge of relevant tax laws / financial compliance (depending on jurisdiction).
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage deadlines, and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills—in writing and verbally—to coordinate with team members and external partners.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (e.g. Excel or Google Sheets) and digital financial reporting tools.
