Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Finance Data Conversion Specialist to support and execute the data migration activities from legacy financial systems into the PeopleSoft Financials suite. This role will be responsible for end-to-end data conversion lifecycle, including data extraction, cleansing, transformation, mapping, validation, and loading into the target PeopleSoft environment.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience working with PeopleSoft Financials (v9.2 or higher), deep understanding of Finance modules, and a solid background in data migration strategies, tools, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Conversion & Migration:

• Lead and execute the data conversion strategy for PeopleSoft Finance modules.
• Extract data from legacy systems and ensure data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, and transformation as per target schema.
• Work closely with functional teams, business analysts, and technical teams to define data mapping, validation rules, and reconciliation processes.
• Develop and maintain ETL scripts, conversion programs, and interfaces using PeopleSoft tools (App Engine, SQR, Component Interface, etc.) or third-party ETL tools as required.
• Perform mock conversions and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of migrated data.
• Manage data loading into PeopleSoft using tools such as ExcelToCI, Component Interfaces, Application Engine, and Integration Broker.
• Conduct data validation and quality checks post-conversion and work with QA teams for issue resolution.
• Coordinate with the finance team for sign-off and audit compliance of migrated data.

PeopleSoft Financials Expertise:

• Strong hands-on knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials modules including:

• General Ledger (GL)

• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Asset Management (AM)

• Project Costing / Grants / Billing (optional but preferred)

• Deep understanding of PeopleSoft data structures, tables, records, and chartfields relevant to financial data.

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Work closely with functional leads, data governance teams, and project managers to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Document conversion procedures, data mapping templates, test results, and issue logs.
• Provide hypercare support during go-live and post-production to ensure data-related issues are quickly resolved.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 6–10 years of total experience with at least 4+ years in PeopleSoft Finance data conversion roles.
• Experience with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes from legacy systems to PeopleSoft.
• Proficiency in PeopleTools including Application Engine, SQR, SQL, PeopleCode, and Component Interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with ExcelToCI, PS Query, and Integration Broker for data upload.
• Experience with Finance functional modules – understanding of accounting principles and finance operations.
• Strong SQL skills to query, validate, and manipulate data across PeopleSoft tables.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team in an Agile or waterfall project environment.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to solving data issues.
• Experience in conducting mock data loads, cutover planning, and reconciliation reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to cloud migrations (PeopleSoft to Oracle Cloud ERP or others) is a plus.
• Experience in data governance, data quality tools, or Master Data Management (MDM) is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Finance compliance standards (e.g., SOX, GAAP).
• Experience in working on global implementations or upgrades.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Certification in PeopleSoft Financials or PeopleTools is a plus.
