Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven eBook Sales Manager to lead and expand our digital book sales across various platforms and channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for strategizing, executing, and optimizing sales efforts for eBooks, including direct sales, institutional partnerships, and online distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement eBook sales strategies to increase revenue and market share across B2B, B2C, and institutional segments.
- Manage relationships with eBook platforms (Amazon Kindle, Google Play Books, Apple Books, Kobo, etc.), aggregators, libraries, and academic partners.
- Coordinate with the marketing and digital publishing teams to promote new eBook launches and ongoing campaigns.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with distributors, vendors, and partners.
- Monitor sales performance and prepare regular reports with insights and recommendations.
- Stay updated with trends and technologies in digital publishing and suggest innovations to improve sales and user experience.
- Collaborate with editorial and production teams to ensure timely release and proper metadata management of digital titles.
- Explore opportunities in emerging markets, channels, and formats (like audiobooks or enhanced eBooks).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's/masters degree in business, Publishing, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in digital publishing or eBook sales, preferably in the publishing industry.
- Strong understanding of the digital book ecosystem, metadata standards, and pricing models.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in tools like Excel, data dashboards, and eBook CMS or distribution platforms.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with library sales or academic content.
- Familiarity with DRM technologies and rights management.
- Understanding of SEO, online marketing, and content discoverability.
