Job Summary:

Lead governance, standards, and technical excellence within the Java Center of Excellence (DevCoE). Drive best practices, architecture consistency, and performance optimization across enterprise-grade Java and Oracle-based applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and continuous improvement in backend and database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and performance benchmarks across Java and Oracle development teams.
  • Architect, design, and develop scalable backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
  • Lead Oracle database design, development, and performance tuning to support high-volume transactional systems.
  • Write and optimize complex PL/SQL procedures, functions, triggers, and packages for mission-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, DBAs, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
  • Establish the Java & Oracle DevCoE framework for standardization, automation, and code quality governance.
  • Monitor application and database health, troubleshoot issues, and ensure platform stability and SLA adherence.
  • Report key metrics, risks, and roadmap progress to leadership and continuously drive process improvement.

Technical Skills:

Programming & Frameworks:

  • Core Java, J2EE, Spring / Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices (preferred)

Database Expertise:

  • Oracle 11g/12c/19c
  • Advanced PL/SQL, Query Optimization, Performance Tuning
  • Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions, Packages

Tools & Platforms:

  • Maven/Gradle, Git, Jenkins (CI/CD)
  • WebLogic / Tomcat (optional)

Methodologies:

  • Agile, DevOps, SDLC Best Practices
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and optimization capabilities

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in Java backend development and Oracle database programming, with proven expertise in performance tuning, PL/SQL optimization, and leading Center of Excellence (CoE) initiatives for technical governance and process improvement.
