Job Title: Bakery Pastry Trainee

Reports to: Head Pastry Chef

Job Type: Internship - 6 months

Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Bakery Pastry Trainee to join our team. This is an entry-level position designed to provide hands-on experience in the art of pastry and bakery production. The trainee will assist in the preparation, baking, and presentation of high-quality bakery and pastry items while learning the fundamentals of professional baking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing bakery and pastry products such as breads, cakes, cookies, tarts, and croissants.
• Learn and follow recipes, portion sizes, and food presentation techniques.
• Support the team in daily baking and pastry production tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen as per food safety standards.
• Help in receiving and storing bakery ingredients and supplies.
• Operate basic bakery equipment under supervision (mixers, ovens, etc.).
• Ensure proper labeling and storage of ingredients and finished products.
• Participate in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place and end-of-day clean-up.

Requirements:

• A strong interest in baking and pastry arts.
• Enrolled in or recently completed a culinary or baking program (preferred but not required).
• Basic understanding of baking ingredients and techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Flexible with shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
