  4. Meme Culture Awareness: Ability to drop in viral clips, GIFs, or humorous edits at the right moment.
  5. Pacing & Rhythm: Skilled at editing to the beat of the background track, keeping dopamine high.
  6. Branding: Consistent with fonts, lower thirds, intro/outro templates, logo animations.

Strategic Understanding

  1. Storytelling: Beyond cuts, knows how to structure videos so viewers stay hooked till the end.

  2. Retention Techniques: Pattern interrupts, zooms, sound effects, and pacing tuned to maximize watch time.

  3. Adaptability: Can tailor editing style to different platforms (YT long form vs TikTok/IG reels).

Practical Experience & Portfolio

  1. 24 years minimum editing high-retention YouTube videos (ideally for entrepreneurs, influencers, or personal brands).

  2. Portfolio that already shows fast cuts, animated captions, B-roll, and meme integration.

  3. Comfort working with short deadlines and multiple revisions.

Responsibilities

  1. Edit long-form YouTube videos (10–30 mins) and short-form content (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) in an engaging, retention-focused style.

  2. Use jump cuts, zooms, motion graphics, and sound effects to maximize engagement.

  3. Add animated captions & text overlays (bold, stylish, kinetic typography).

  4. Integrate B-roll, stock footage, memes, and screen recordings to emphasize points.

  5. Perform color grading to keep a cinematic and consistent look.

  6. Sync edits with background music for high energy and rhythm.

  7. Deliver fast turnarounds while maintaining top quality.

Bonus Points

  1. Past experience editing for entrepreneurs, coaches, or content creators.

  2. Knowledge of meme culture and viral editing techniques.

  3. Ability to edit content into multiple formats (YT, IG, TikTok)

Test Task (Required)

  1. To qualify, please edit a 1–2-minute sample video from raw footage we provide. We'll be evaluating:

  4. Sound & color grading.

  5. Attention to detail.
