Aspera Industries is on a mission to make the smartest, most efficient airplanes in the world.

We design and manufacture autonomous, amphibious cargo aircraft in the
5-10 tonne
capacity range, capable of takeoff and landing on both water and land surfaces.

    on-site
    , right next to our aircraft and airfield, 6 days a week. There's no remote work here. Building the future means being present, together, at the airfield and in the hangar, every day.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate on design activities for aircraft configuration, stability, and control features.
  • Perform trade studies on wing, tail, and control surface sizing for handling qualities and performance.
  • Contribute to propulsion-airframe integration. Evaluate effects of propulsion placement on aircraft stability, performance, noise, manage thermal, vibrational, and aerodynamic impacts.
  • Conduct analyses of longitudinal and lateral-directional stability and control. Evaluate dynamic modes (phugoid, Dutch roll, short period, spiral) and ensure compliance with FAR handling quality requirements.
  • Support flight control law development and control surface effectiveness studies, and correlate analysis with wind tunnel and flight test data.

What you'll bring

  • Experience working on UAVs or aircraft design, including weight estimations, wing and tail sizing, and the design of flight control systems.
  • Experience working on aircraft development programs (preferably from concept to flight test/certification). This can include large scale UAVs (MTOW > 300kg).
  • Hands-on experience in static and dynamic stability analysis, control surface effectiveness studies, and handling qualities evaluations. Experience with control law support (working alongside flight control engineers).
