POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Copywriter for Performance Marketing Creative is responsible for how we tell the Holiday Inn Club Vacations story through compelling and effective copy across web, email, display and social tactics. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fun, collaborative and innovative department as part of the Corporate Branding & Communications team.
This position will be responsible for creating a variety of compelling and effective copy primarily to support dynamic emails, landing pages, social ads, display ads, web content, offer programs, and print projects. They will work on a wide variety of styles, from conversational, nurturing, information-rich emails to more direct, CTA-driven offer pieces and brand awareness tactics. No matter the style, the ideal candidate will ensure that any/all copy meets the unique requirements of each projects strategic input, technical specs, effectively adheres to Holiday Inn Club Vacations brand voice and standards and satisfies slated business objectives - all with creative excellence.
The candidate should have a high level of attention to detail, ownership, responsive communication, and the ability to be nimble and organized in a fast-faced, high volume environment.
This position is also responsible for assisting with proofreading projects for spelling, grammar, accuracy and brand tone. The employee must manage multiple projects simultaneously and partner effectively with the Sr. Manager, Performance Marketing Creative, as well as designers and various teams, including Strategy, Web, and Production to deliver timely, high-quality products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS (up to five):
- Writing copy for various marketing content, including emails, landing pages and ads (including changes and rewrites)- 50%
- Partnering with clients, partners, peers and direct leader to deeply understand project needs, inputs, feedback and optimizations to apply to design work.-25%
- Proofreading and prepping production-ready copy files (including employees own copy and occasionally that of others).-25%
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5-7 years professional writing experience in marketing, advertising, online publishing, PR or related field .
- Experience managing multiple projects successfully .
- Experience working well in a cross-functional team environment .
- Experience in corporate environment and/or timeshare/hospitality background a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to write creative, compelling, and effective copy for various audiences and platforms, including email, web, print, social, blog and digital with minimal supervision.
- Proven creativity and high-quality of writing.
- A curious interest in trends, innovation and marketing/advertising.
- Basic understanding of how to effectively pair copy with photography and design.
- Ability to do research and ask appropriate questions to gather and organize pertinent information.
- Exceptional editing and proofreading skills, including spelling, grammar and punctuation in line with AP style and to provided Brand Guidelines and Style/Tone.
- Experience with or willingness to learn company's project management software (prior experience with Work Front is a plus).
- Experience (or the ability to quickly learn) our Blog Content Management System with light coding (prior experience with WordPress or similar CMS is a major plus).
- Ability to meet strict, fast-moving deadlines, to work on multiple projects at once, and collaborate and communicate with internal team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, work ethic and professional demeanour.
