AI Developer

Position Overview

The AI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating artificial intelligence solutions for medical devices. The role blends expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision with the requirements of ophthalmic medical imaging to deliver robust, regulatory-compliant solutions for disease screening and clinical diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and optimize AI models for analysis of retinal images, including fundus photographs, OCT/OCT-A scans, and other clinical metadata.
  • Develop data pipelines to acquire, preprocess, annotate, and augment datasets for robust model training and evaluation.
  • Integrate trained models into cloud/web platforms and prepare models for integration into medical imaging device, ensuring efficient inference and real-time clinical usability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software/hardware engineers, ophthalmologists, regulatory and quality personnel) on requirements, validation, and product deployment.
  • Ensure AI components conform to medical device regulatory requirements and maintain auditable documentation for algorithm changes and validation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or relevant technical fields.
  • Proficiency in Python and machine learning/deep learning frameworks (pytorch, tensorflow, keras, scikit-learn), with hands-on experience in medical image analysis, digital image processing and computer vision.
  • Knowledge of deployment to embedded and cloud platforms, REST API development, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud environments (Azure, GCP) is preferred.
  • Prior work in medical imaging (OCT, fundus, multimodal ophthalmic data) is preferred.
