Job Description

We are hiring an experienced PostgreSQL DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize our on-premise and/or cloud-based PostgreSQL environments. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in installations, performance tuning, replication, backup & recovery, and day-to-day database administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and manage PostgreSQL database servers
  • Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing
  • Set up and monitor Replication (Streaming / Logical)
  • Handle backup & recovery (pg_dump, PITR, WAL archiving)
  • Troubleshoot database issues, logs, locks, and performance bottlenecks
  • Manage users, roles, permissions, and security policies
  • Perform routine DB maintenance (VACUUM, REINDEX, ANALYZE)
  • Monitor using tools like pg_stat_statements, pgBadger
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and database integrity
  • Work closely with application & DevOps teams for DB support

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in Cloud DBs (AWS RDS for PostgreSQL, Azure PostgreSQL)
  • Knowledge of HA tools (Patroni, PgPool-II, RepMgr)
  • Experience with automation & scripting (Python/Shell)
  • Understanding of Security, RBAC, Audit Logs
