Role purpose
As a Senior Visualization Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and executing IDP's data visualization strategy. You will design and build scalable, user-centric, and insightful analytics solutions, collaborating closely with data and business stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. This role will be responsible for analyzing all types of data to identify areas of opportunity and deliver actionable insights. They will have a strong background in web analytics implementation and data analysis and be able to bring data to life through storytelling and data visualization.

Key Accountabilities
Key Responsibilities- Design & Development

  • Build interactive, user-friendly, and scalable dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau/Power BI to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and intuitive visualizations.

  • Implement best practices in visual design, backend style, usability, and performance optimization.

  • Data Modelling & Integration

  • Create reusable datasets that support scalable self-service analytics.

  • Connect to a variety of internal and external data sources and apply transformations using SQL or other tools.
  • Ensure accurate data representation and governance alignment in the reporting layer.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with key stakeholders, including commercial, product, marketing and client success, to define and communicate business requirements to the data engineering team for tracking and reporting.

  • Present insights and prototypes to stakeholders effectively with clear storytelling and data narratives.

  • Promote a culture of data literacy and self-service analytics within business teams.

  • Best Practices & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to standards and best practices in data visualization and BI development.

  • Stay current with industry trends and technology innovations in data and analytics.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and simplification of analytics solutions.

Required Experience
Qualifications & Skills

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in data visualization and business intelligence.
  • Proficiency in Tableau or equivalent.
  • Strong SQL skills; Python proficiency is a plus.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and analytics concepts.
  • Familiarity with data modelling techniques and dimensional modelling.
  • Basic understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, cloud data platforms).
  • Certification in Power BI/Tableau is desirable.
  • Excellent proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential for engaging with cross-functional stakeholders and conveying ideas clearly.
