To ensure that all site construction activities are executed in strict compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The Senior Quality Site Engineer is responsible for supervising all quality control operations, coordinating with site teams, consultants, and clients, and ensuring effective implementation of the companys Quality Management System (QMS) across project sites.

Role & responsibilities

1. Site Quality Management

  • Implement the site-specific Quality Plan and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) in coordination with QA/QC Manager.
  • Supervise day-to-day construction activities including civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works for adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct and verify stage-wise inspections (reinforcement, shuttering, concrete, waterproofing, plastering, tiling, etc.) with the consultant/client representatives.
  • Ensure proper workmanship and quality control measures are maintained throughout the project execution.

2. Material Quality Control

  • Check incoming materials for compliance with approved samples and specifications.
  • Ensure materials are properly stored, handled, and tested at approved laboratories as per IS codes and project requirements.
  • Monitor batching, concrete mix proportions, curing processes, and finishing quality.
  • Coordinate with the procurement and stores team for quality clearance of materials.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain all QA/QC documentation such as ITPs, checklists, test reports, NCRs, inspection reports, and calibration records.
  • Maintain daily inspection logs and quality records for submission to clients and consultants.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports highlighting observations, NCR status, and quality improvements.

4. Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions

  • Identify non-conformances and issue NCRs/SORs where required.
  • Coordinate with site execution teams to ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Perform root cause analysis for repeated quality issues and implement process improvements to prevent recurrence.

5. Coordination & Communication

  • Liaise with project engineers, consultants, and client representatives on quality-related matters.
  • Participate in quality review meetings and site inspections with client/consultant teams.
  • Support QA/QC Manager during internal and external quality audits.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and site supervisors on maintaining quality standards.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure that all quality activities comply with project safety and environmental policies.
  • Coordinate with the HSE team to align safety and quality objectives at site.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 812 years of experience in QA/QC within a construction contracting environment.
  • Industry Exposure: High-rise residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
