JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced Senior BI Engineer with strong expertise in AWS QuickSight, Glue, and Athena to design, develop, and optimize business intelligence solutions on the AWS cloud. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of BI architecture, strong analytical capabilities, and hands-on experience working in fast-paced service-based environments.

This role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and cross- functional delivery groups to build scalable dashboards, data models, and BI workflows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

BI Development & Visualization

  • Design, build, and optimize AWS QuickSight dashboards, reports, and datasets for business insights.
  • Implement row-level security (RLS), SPICE optimization, custom visuals, and user experience enhancements.
  • Develop intuitive and interactive dashboards aligned with business KPIs. AWS Data Engineering & Pipeline Management
  • Build, manage, and automate ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, including Glue Jobs, Crawlers, Workflows, and Data Catalog.
  • Write efficient SQL queries and optimize data retrieval using AWS Athena.
  • Work closely with data engineering teams to define data models, schemas, and transformation logic.

Data Analysis & Support

  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to support BI requirements.
  • Translate business problems into analytical solutions using AWS-native BI tools.
  • Provide ongoing support, enhancements, and troubleshooting for BI and data pipeline issues.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Interact with business teams, product owners, and delivery managers to gather requirements and refine BI solutions.
  • Present insights, reports, and recommendations clearly to clients and leadership.
  • Work closely with offshore/onshore teams within a service-based delivery model.

Quality, Governance & Optimization

  • Ensure BI solutions meet performance, scalability, and security standards.
  • Maintain documentation for dashboards, data flows, metadata, and user guides.
  • Continuously improve dashboard performance, data refresh reliability, and user adoption.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years of total experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics roles.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in:
  • AWS QuickSight (SPICE, visuals, RLS, parameters, dashboards, dataset modeling)
  • AWS Glue (ETL pipelines, Glue Jobs, PySpark, Crawlers)
  • AWS Athena (SQL optimization, partitioning, schema design)
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and cloud-based data architecture.
  • Experience working in an IT service-based environment with multi-client delivery exposure.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model (3 days in office).

GOOD TO HAVE:

  • Experience with AWS Redshift, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch.
  • Understanding of BI best practices and data governance.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and client-facing roles.
