Job Summary

We are hiring Senior Engineering Managers to lead and grow high-performing backend engineering teams responsible for architecting and delivering Linnk's SaaS and AI-driven platforms.

In this role, you will:

  • Own technical strategy and execution of backend initiatives.
  • Lead and manage a team of 8–10+ engineers, providing direction, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Partner with product and business stakeholders to ensure timely and quality delivery.
  • Maintain a balance between hands-on technical leadership and people management.
  • This is an on-site leadership role at our Cochin Innovation Hub with direct influence on Linnk's core products and engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities

Team & People Leadership

  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 8–10+ backend engineers.
  • Conduct performance reviews, career development planning, and coaching.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous learning.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, and team expansion as the organization scales.

Technical Leadership & Execution

  • Define and communicate technical strategy and architecture for backend services.
  • Guide design, development, and maintenance of scalable systems.
  • Oversee API design (REST/GraphQL), database architecture (PostgreSQL/MongoDB), and microservices deployments.
  • Ensure backend systems meet standards of scalability, performance, and security.
  • Review and approve designs, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices.

Delivery & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align engineering execution with product roadmaps and business priorities.
  • Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and QA to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Anticipate risks, manage dependencies, and drive predictable delivery timelines.
  • Evangelize engineering excellence and contribute to company-wide technical strategy.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10–15 years of professional software development experience, with at least 5 years in
    technical leadership and team management
    .
  • Strong background in , TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+), and backend frameworks ).
  • Proven expertise with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, schema design, and distributed systems.
  • Deep experience with microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, and large-scale system design.
  • Demonstrated success in
    leading teams of 8–10+ engineers
    to deliver complex products.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Good to Have

  • Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Knowledge of real-time communication (WebSockets, SSE).
  • Exposure to vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, etc.) for AI/ML workloads.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Awareness of frontend frameworks (React/React Native) for cross-functional alignment.
