Role: BI Developer
 

Responsibilities:
An expert focused on creating and deploying business intelligence solutions through Microsoft Power BI/Tableau/custom reporting applications, with strong exposure to manufacturing and supply chain domain analytics. The role requires deep expertise in data modeling, visualization, and integration techniques that enable operational excellence and process optimization across manufacturing and supply chain functions.
 

Technical Skills

• Develop and optimize data models, ETL/ELT workflows, and data integrations across multiple enterprise systems and platforms (including SAP, MES, LIMS, and ERP systems used in manufacturing and supply chain operations).

• Lead end-to-end data engineering projects and contribute to architectural decisions supporting production, logistics, and inventory data pipelines.

• Design and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS (preferred) using tools such as AWS Glue, EMR, and Databricks.

• Promote best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the performance and reliability of data infrastructure supporting manufacturing and supply chain analytics.

• Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Data Modeling, DAX, Power Query, and Microsoft Fabric's data integration and analytics capabilities.
   

MS Fabric and Business Intelligence Development

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards tailored for manufacturing performance, production efficiency, and supply chain visibility.

• Create data models, transformations, and visualizations that support real-time decision-making for operations, planning, procurement, and logistics.

• Develop dataflows and DataMarts to support complex transformations from MES, SAP, and warehouse systems.

• Collaborate with business users, process owners, and cross-functional teams to understand domain-specific data needs and deliver actionable insights.
   

Integration and Automation

• Integrate Power BI with various data sources (SAP, MES, SharePoint, spreadsheets, etc.) and enterprise systems.

• Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure timely and accurate data availability for manufacturing KPIs and supply chain dashboards.

• Automate repetitive data processing and reporting tasks to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual dependency.

Documentation, Testing, and Training

• Document configurations, processes, and best practices for Microsoft Fabric and Power BI administration.

• Conduct training sessions for end-users and internal teams to enhance their Power BI proficiency, with a focus on supply chain and manufacturing reporting use cases.

• Hands-on experience in extracting reports from SAP (MM, PP, SD modules), analyzing data, and automating report/dashboard generation.

• Strong experience in data validation and applying best testing practices for accuracy and reliability.
   

Process Improvement

• Identify inefficiencies in manufacturing workflows, supply chain planning, and inventory management using data-driven insights.

• Collaborate with operations, quality, and planning teams to implement optimization initiatives that enhance production throughput and supply reliability.
   

Performance Monitoring & Dashboards

• Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and KPIs using Power BI to monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), production yield, inventory turns, supplier performance, and logistics metrics.

• Apply exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
   

Basic Qualifications / Requirements

• Experience: 4–6 years in data engineering or business intelligence roles, with significant exposure to manufacturing and supply chain analytics.

• Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, Data Modeling, DAX, Power Query, and Microsoft Fabric's data integration and analytics capabilities.

• Overall 3–6 years of experience in data engineering using SQL, Python, PySpark, and AWS services.

• Strong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, and SQL.

• 2–4 years of experience in writing scripts for data analysis using Python, SQL, or R.

• Hands-on experience with Databricks for cluster management, workspace configuration, notebook development, and performance optimization.

• HPALM or similar testing platform knowledge is an added advantage.

• Prior experience in supply chain analytics, manufacturing operations, or ERP-based reporting (preferably SAP) is highly desirable.
