Stripe is launching Stripe Delivery Centers - a brand new global team to design, implement and grow Stripe's operations for the next decade. What you'll do
As Stripe's user base and global footprint grows dramatically, we are looking for passionate people and operations to help build teams in our Stripe Delivery Center, a centralized operational hub of Stripes. You will recruit, manage, and develop a high performing credit operations team that is focused on preventing and resolving user issues and optimizing our operational processes. This individual will be responsible for setting team goals and using metrics to efficiently measure and guide team performance in pursuit of those goals. You will have a strong operations mindset, be able to move quickly, and be passionate about delivering an incredible User experience.
Responsibilities
- Inspire, motivate, and develop a high performing credit operations team, inclusive of managers and individuals contributors, while fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Establish clear goals, provide coaching and feedback, and support the professional growth of team members.
- Set a strategic vision for the team and build the path to execute it in both the short and long-term.
- Proactively evolve strategy to scale operations and address day-to-day challenges.
- Collaborate with and influence and cross-functional stakeholders to identify and execute upon process improvement initiatives.
- Lead root cause analysis to identify opportunities to predict, prevent, and mitigate risk within processes and performance.
- Manage core metrics, SLAs, and performance of the organization.
- Identify gaps in current systems, processes, and strategies, and deliver enhancements to mitigate existing and emerging risks.

Minimum Requirements
- At least 7+ years of proven people management experience overseeing risk and underwriting functions.
- Proven track record of leading and scaling high performing teams that handle multifaceted and ambiguous workflows.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions.
- Passion for delivering a user-centric experience while effectively managing risk
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial risk modeling, and cash flow forecasting
- Experience in payments, e-commerce, or fintech
- Experience in building and scaling new teams from zero
- Experience operating in a high growth technology company
In-office expectations
Office-assigned Stripes in most of our locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripes in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% in-office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Also, some teams have greater in-office attendance requirements, to appropriately support our users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility when possible.
