Service Overview: A 12-month transitional residency to administer, maintain, and optimize the client's data protection environment. The service will be delivered on-site in Abu Dhabi during standard business hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday).

Key Responsibilities

The Resident Engineer will be responsible for the following operational tasks related to the Cohesity NetBackup (Azure) and Cohesity Alta M365 Protection environments:

Solution Management & Optimization

  • Manage, maintain, operate, and support the in-scope data protection solutions.
  • Plan and execute all platform maintenance, including upgrades, deployments, patches, and backup/recovery testing.
  • Perform regular configuration and environment reviews, implementing vendor and industry best practices.
  • Ensure a high degree of backup and recovery success through proactive monitoring and support.
  • Publish regular status and health reports on the solution according to an agreed schedule.

Technical Support & Stabilization

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues encountered within the environment.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for managing and escalating technical issues.
  • Provide remote monitoring and incident response for non-routine activities.
  • Ensure the continued compatibility of the Cohesity solutions with the client's IT environment.

Strategic Planning & Advisory

  • Provide advice on upgrades, patches, and security alerts.
  • Respond to support-related questions and provide technical clarification during daily operations.
  • Coordinate with vendor technical support to resolve product escalations swiftly.
  • Assist in planning and evaluating new features and functionalities.
  • Provide technical input for account planning and quarterly business reviews.
  • Assist in the development and improvement of automation and recovery processes.
Requirements

Client Requirements:

  • The client must have an active Maintenance/Support contract for all in-scope Cohesity products.
  • The client will provide a dedicated single point of contact to coordinate delivery and resources.
  • The client must provide all necessary access to sites, data centers, networks, systems, tools, and documentation required to perform the work.
  • The client is responsible for providing suitable remote access (e.g., VPN, laptop, token).
  • The client will guide the consultant through their internal change management processes until the consultant is proficient.
