We are currently looking for an experienced and creative Editor / Senior Editor – General Books (GK & Pre-Primary) to join our editorial team and contribute to the development of exceptional educational resources.

Job Description:

As an Editor / Senior Editor (General Books – GK & Pre-Primary), you will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, editing, and overseeing the production of engaging and age-appropriate educational content. You will work closely with authors, illustrators, designers, and academic experts to ensure that all books meet educational objectives, maintain high editorial standards, and align with the latest curriculum and pedagogical trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, edit, and proofread manuscripts for General Knowledge and Pre-Primary level books.
  • Conceptualize new titles, series, and content ideas based on market research and curriculum requirements.
  • Collaborate with authors, subject experts, and illustrators to create visually engaging and pedagogically sound content.
  • Ensure that all materials are age-appropriate, accurate, and aligned with current educational frameworks.
  • Maintain the tone, style, and quality of content across multiple series or projects.
  • Review layouts, illustrations, and proofs to ensure textual and visual harmony.
  • Coordinate with design, production, and marketing teams to ensure timely completion and publication of projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior editors and freelancers, providing feedback and quality control.
  • Keep abreast of trends in early childhood education, general knowledge content, and innovative publishing practices.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in English, Education, Journalism, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–6 years of professional experience in educational publishing, with a focus on General Knowledge and/or Pre-Primary content.
  • Strong editorial and developmental editing skills, with an eye for detail and creativity.
  • Excellent command of English language, grammar, and style.
  • Understanding of child psychology and pedagogy relevant to early learning and GK content.
  • Familiarity with curriculum frameworks (CBSE/ICSE/State Boards) and market trends in educational publishing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficiency in editorial tools (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace, etc.).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
