Job Description:

As an Editor / Senior Editor (English) at G.Ram Books P. Ltd. , you will be responsible for overseeing the editorial development and production of high-quality written content. You will manage the end-to-end editing process—ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency in language, tone, and style. This role requires strong editorial judgment, excellent command of the English language, and the ability to work collaboratively with writers, designers, and other editorial professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the editorial process from manuscript submission to final publication.
  • Edit and proofread content for grammar, structure, style, and factual accuracy.
  • Work closely with authors, writers, and subject matter experts to develop, refine, and enhance manuscripts or articles.
  • Ensure consistency with the publication's editorial guidelines, brand voice, and quality standards.
  • Plan and manage editorial calendars and production schedules to meet publication deadlines.
  • Review and mentor junior editors or freelance writers, providing constructive feedback and editorial direction.
  • Coordinate with design, production, and marketing teams to ensure smooth publication workflows.
  • Stay updated with trends in publishing, language usage, and digital editorial practices.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–6 years of professional experience in editing, preferably in a publication house, media company, or academic publishing.
  • Exceptional command of English grammar, syntax, and style.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong editorial judgment, attention to detail, and a passion for language.
  • Proficiency in editorial tools (MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace, CMS platforms, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Experience managing a team of writers/editors will be an added advantage.
